Project Overview

MFS Construction was contracted by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to remove debris resulting from Hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.

Project Details

The objective was to remove storm debris and restore designated streams (channels, canals, waterways, etc) in various locations on the island of Puerto Rico. MFS was in charge of removing and properly disposing of all vegetative material, sediment and debris (organic and inorganic) deposited in and adjacent to the streams, inside culverts/pipes and under bridges. MFS was also in charge of inspecting the field operations to ensure compliance with client specifications, and to assure that contract and safety requirements are met.
